Again in 2019, Google Maps for Android gained a speedometer that merely “exhibits you how briskly you’re driving on the street” and it’s now coming to the iPhone.
Google confirmed this iOS and CarPlay rollout to TechCrunch. The speedometer seems within the bottom-left nook as a circle whenever you’re navigating in a automobile. This “velocity indicator will change colours if you happen to go over the velocity restrict.”
Google Maps can be globally rolling out velocity restrict indicators for the street you’re on.
On the security entrance, Google says the gauge is “for informational use solely” and that “exterior components might trigger the Maps Speedometer to vary out of your precise velocity.”
A shortcut helps you to “flip the speedometer on or off by tapping Velocity Restrict.” Go to Maps Settings > Navigation > Map show > Present speedometer to disable it outright.
We’re seeing it in Google Maps for iOS with model 6.123.0. This server-side replace has been rolling out to customers in latest weeks.
The speedometer shouldn’t be but out there on Android Auto.
