Former Battlefield director Marcus Lehto has taken to Twitter to make it clear that he has nothing good to say about his former employer EA after leaving the corporate in February.
“Not been saying a lot right here since I don’t have something optimistic to say about EA, my latest departure, and the way so many, together with my staff, are struggling as a result of business sweeping layoffs,” he stated.
Only a day after Lehto made his departure from the corporate public, EA introduced that it was shedding 5% of its international workforce, together with the shutting down of Ridgeline Studios. Ridgeline had been liable for the single-player improvement of the Battlefield franchise.
In its announcement of the studio’s closure, Laura Miele, president of EA Leisure and Know-how, appeared to insinuate that Lehto’s exit was a part of the rationale for the studio’s closure.
“Marcus Lehto not too long ago made a private resolution to depart the challenge,” she stated. “To make sure our work continues uninterrupted, we instantly appointed management at Criterion to supervise our single-player work. As a part of this modification, we’ll be winding down Ridgeline as a standalone studio in Seattle, with some staff members becoming a member of Ripple Impact.“
