ORANGE COUNTY, New York (WABC) — A number of accidents had been reported after a United Airways flight headed to Newark Worldwide Airport in New Jersey was diverted to an airport in Orange County, New York on Friday, attributable to excessive winds.Over 300 passengers and crew members had been aboard United Airways Flight 85 from Tel Aviv to Newark when it was diverted to Stewart Worldwide Airport in New Windsor round 6:45 p.m. attributable to “excessive winds and turbulence,” in response to officers.Eyewitness Information was advised the airplane was cleared to land in Newark after its 11-hour flight from Israel, however pilots referred to as a “go-around” once they had been about 750 toes off the bottom.They advised air visitors controllers they’d skilled “wind shear,” which is a sudden change in wind path.In the end, the airplane landed safely at Stewart Worldwide Airport and was met with first responders upon arrival.Orange County officers say first responders assessed the situation of about 200 passengers, with one passenger deplaning attributable to a medical incident, in response to United Airways.Seven passengers had been taken to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall with minor accidents, some which reported potential movement illness, in response to New Windsor EMS.”Whereas no passengers skilled critical accidents, we want all of them speedy recoveries and protected travels,” Orange County Exec.
