Kenny Pickett’s time with the Pittsburgh Steelers was a rocky one and finally led to his cross-state commerce to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The previous Steelers quarterback took two days to pen his farewell letter, and even then, he failed to say the workforce that chosen him at No. 20 general within the 2022 NFL draft.
Pickett posted to Instagram this afternoon:
“Thanks, Pittsburgh! I got here to this metropolis 7 years in the past and my life modified endlessly. Grateful for all the wonderful individuals I used to be lucky sufficient to cross paths with, and for all of those that supported me alongside the best way. I made life-long friendships and relationships that I’ll all the time cherish. Now, I’m honored and excited for the following alternative in my profession – with the ability to play for the workforce that helped me discover my love for the sport as a child. Go Birds!!”
It was a drama-filled season in what can be Pickett’s final within the black and gold. In the end, what did him in was Pittsburgh’s choice to signal free agent quarterback Russell Wilson and maybe even the method they have been in to commerce for Justin Fields.
Pickett wasn’t about to slip from QB1 to three behind Wilson and Fields and demanded a commerce, which the Steelers acquiesced.
The third-year quarterback now will get to satisfy a dream of being on the roster of the workforce he grew up cheering for. Barring damage to Jalen Hurts, although, preseason would be the solely time he takes the sphere.
